Step 1: Partner with Us

Every Bella’s Blessings project begins with a partnership. We connect with local governments (City or County) to share our mission, introduce the concept of pet blessing boxes, and identify neighborhoods where this resource could make a meaningful difference.

Why local governments? Because they are existing partners in community care who already have trusted communication channels to spread awareness quickly and effectively. By partnering with cities and counties, Bella’s Blessings can reach farther and connect with more families who may benefit from a pet blessing box. Local government partnerships also open doors to safe, high-traffic public spaces — like libraries, parks, and city halls — where residents already gather. This ensures the boxes are both visible and accessible to the people who need them most.

Together, with the interested local government unit, we explore community needs, select a location, and plan installation logistics. Because Bella’s Blessings is currently a self-funded LLC (and not yet a nonprofit), we either cover the cost of the pet blessing box or accept in-kind material donations from our approved supply list (approximately $200).

All boxes are built and installed with love by our partner, 2M Construction, an Atlanta-based general contractor that donates its time and craftsmanship to help pets and people in need.

If you are a friendly neighbor interested in a pet blessing box for your Atlanta neighborhood, you will want to engage your City or County government to request a pet blessing box from us.

Step 2: Designate a Community Steward

Each pet blessing box thrives because of community generosity and local stewardship. When a City or County comes on-board, we help them identify a community partner—a Scout troop, library, youth or senior group, art collective, or nonprofit—that will serve as the box’s steward.

We provide the white PVC box—the steward organization brings it to life! Every box is painted and personalized to reflect the heart of its neighborhood. Bella’s Blessings offers creative guidance, examples, and design inspiration, then collaborates with the steward and local government to finalize the installation site. Together, we also build a list of local pet welfare resources to feature on our website for that community.

Step 3: Stock and Sustain your Box

To kick things off, Bella’s Blessings helps “seed” each box with donations from pet food pantries, companies, and animal welfare organizations. City/County partners or stewards can also organize their own collection drives to fill the box initially. Bella's Blessings will create an Amazon Wishlist for common pet food and supply products and the steward can share this list with their community members. Items ordered from Amazon will arrive to the steward who will then re-stock the box.

Once the box is installed, the steward takes the lead in rallying community support—sharing updates on social media, in newsletters, and at local events. Over time, small acts of kindness keep the box full: a few cans of cat food, an extra leash, or a bag of kibble shared in memory of a beloved pet.

To promote and celebrate each new Bella's Blessing Box, we encourage local governments to host a community ribbon-cutting with residents, donors, and pet welfare partners. 2M Construction will complete installation just before the ceremony to ensure everything’s picture-perfect.
